Apr. 6th, 2007 02:08 pmHAMMONTON -- The leader of an area chapter of the Ku Klux Klan has canceled a planned May 12 demonstration and is calling for the dissolution of the chapter. / Joseph V. Bednarsky Jr. on Friday acknowledged the Ku Klux Klan is a hate group and asked for forgiveness from residents and town officials."
In other news, "Nat Press, 90, of Millville, died March 31 at his home... Mr. Press was known in the area for developing one of the first women's clothing outlet stores, The Ideal Manufacturing Co. He built the landmark quonset huts on the White Horse Pike and offered women's and children's clothing, especially coats and suits. He pioneered the concept of the highway store and led the lobbying effort to do away with Sunday Blue Laws n Atlantic County."
Folks from the Phila-S. Jersey area will remember the radio ads:
