At the ends of my lower extremities reside a pair of shoes that I have owned and loved for many years now—loved too well, apparently, since they keep breaking on me. I have had this pair of shoes resoled THRICE in the last 5 years or so. First I went to the guy on the ground floor of the municipal building at 14th and U, who accepted, resoled, and promptly lost my shoes. He found them again a while later and I wore them for maybe 8 months before one of the soles came bustling off, divorcing the rest of the shoe. I mean, an enthusiastic, 'Let's go on a Caribbean cruise!' kind of divorce.

I took them back to Dude on 14th. He accepted at my word that he had resoled them only 8 months before and, bless his nonagenarian heart, resoled them again, gratis. This time it lasted maybe 18 months, maybe 2 years. I sought another shop, down U Street a few blocks, and had them resoled there. Again, this is maybe a year ago, maybe 18 months... and the left sole is seriously disconnecting from the upper while the right sole is cracked almost all the way across.

I mean. Seriously. WHAT. THE. BLISTERING. FUCK.

Does anybody, I mean anybody, know a good shoe repair shop? Hell, I'll take a shoeMAKER at this point, pay for scratch bespoke construction of a new pair exactly like this poor, decrepit pair. Help!
