bxiie: We are the only three acknowleged Bush voters in this circle of friends (though I suspect several other individuals here and not actually voted for Bush while avoiding ridicule by pretending to vote Blue, Green, or not at all); popular lefty 'knowledge' is that all Bush voters have these attributes; ergo, balancing empirical data against what we 'know' about Bush voters, we must be the only three.
oh, come on, folks... in my responding to bxiie's allegation that "the left" is wrong to assume Bush was voted in based on "moral values," all i did was note that the three vocal Republican voters here are almost certainly not a representative sample on which to generalize to the 53 million entirety of the GOP-voting population. in terms of math, my statement is inarguable. but it is NOT the same as suggesting you are the ONLY three, or even that you are an insignificant minority. the statement that 'popular lefty "knowledge" is that all Bush voters have these attributes [homophobia, etc.]' is simply not true. it is a far cry between saying "all Bush voters are x" and saying "Bush's reelection was due in a significant part to voters who are x." ( excruciating minutiae here )
