i'm leavin' on a jet plane

fr_defenestratoand heading to Warner Robins, Ga. for two days of meetings between my employer and a potential subcontractor on a piece of work for the US Air Force we're prolly going to bid on. i learnt about this yesterday and had to pack last night so i could bring my luggage to work and go from here to BWI. i come back friday.
the travel per se isn't bad, but for fuck's sake, a DAY'S notice? not quite even 24 hours! it means a harried whirl of feline care procurement (but dearly do i love my friends who help me thus) and it means i have only a day's notice to give to the Suspicious Cheese Lords about missing rehearsal--not really too cool.
what IS cool is that all my time in transit is billable. i should have about 10 hours this week of PAID overtime--good lard, who ever gets THAT anymore? well, this company opted to bring me on termp-to-perm; so on the downside i have to work holidays to get paid for them, i get no vacation this spring, etc.--so while i'm a wage slave (ok, ok, i'm an ass-licking house n-----) i'm gonna get what OT i can--which, given the schedule of proposals coming up, looks to be a bunch. woohoo.
