Accompanied DH2 and they friend Jamie and Steve to the Birchmere Friday night to see the Yard Dogs Road Show, a sort of burlesque-meets-goth band with a smattering of klezmer thrown in; opened for by The Indigo, three winsome young women whose undulating midsections get top billing but must, to my way of thinking, share our outstretched awe with their hands, as the latter seem to grafted from that life form in The Abyss.

By the time DH2 and I got home the cold that had been creeping up on me since Thursday morning had unquestionably moved in for a comfy stay, so I holed up in my house, canceled plans with Lord Fomo to hit the Renfest again on Saturday (missing out on quality anniversary and birthday celebration time with [livejournal.com profile] scarydavedc and [livejournal.com profile] heleneotroy... I probably could have got away with being up and about all day, but I would have drunk a lot and thus fucked my immune system, allow the cold to grow worser even.

So movies and TV instead. Finished watching Seasons Three and Four of Wild Boys (no guilt here at all: I could give away all my porn if I got to keep my extensive collection of Chris Pontius in a jockstrap) and Season One of Robot Chicken. (B'GAWK! bok.) Rewatched Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (meh); Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (not nearly as dreadful as I remembered it—though Dobbie still needs to have been kilt long before he made it to the screen—after all, there was Order of the Phoenix to handily take over the position of worst HP movie); and Hellboy (with 3-hour documentary extras... are we absolutely sure Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson are two different people? Anyway, yay!). Then watched The Ruins a borrowance from [livejournal.com profile] maestro_live, which wasn't awful. It wasn't particularly new, but it commanded a certain dread if not any real scares; and anyway, I have a soft spot for watching horrific ill befall blithe, beautiful breeders, especially in the last reels when they go all nutso and start blaming each other for clearly external misfortunes. This just doesn't play out with me.

I killed my laptop over the weekend. It seriously deserved it. I'm done-done with Toshiba. Accepting recommendations: is any common commercially produced laptop computer NOT a piece of shit?
