Sonnet from the Porch de Curmudgeon

I've really been falling down on the job with these lately. I'm probably 10 or 12 shy for the calendar year at this point. Well, here's a nice, cheery one to get me back on track...
I do not love my neighbor in the least
(I would say "as myself" to quote the LORD
Except that that means nothing to a priest
Of agno-hedo-solipsism like Gourd.
(And also, nothing rhymes with "self".) Just why
Them doofy Christ commanded such is clear
Enough to any hippie; but just try
To live it outgo 'head, go volunteer,
Give everything you own to help the poor.
It's easy with a sycophantic posse
Feeding you fish and grapes and fighting o'er
Who gets to wash your feet. So fuck the bossy,
Fuck parables, fuck metaphors, the lot.
My neighbors, by and large, can all go rot.
Edit: I should explain "neighbor" is construed as "other humans on earth" not necessarily the people who live physically closest to me; some of them I rather cherish :)
